This Lonesome Paradise is a pacific northwest perdition blues band. Led by drifter, impresario, and songwriter E. Ray Bechard , their debut album Electric Dreams sounds like doo-wop angels, droning demons, and reverb laden songs of retribution. For all it's darkness, Electric Dreams is morbidly upbeat, a western-noir album we're releasing on Halloween.

ALBUM OUT OCTOBER 31ST. EXPECTED TO SHIP DECEMBER 26TH.

This Lonesome Paradise careens through a series of retro-active rock n' roll without pastiche or pretense. Nevada Sowle mans an ancient Rheem organ. Songwriter and vocalist E. Ray Bechard assembled a crew of northwest upstarts Daniel Miller (guitars), Caitlyn Faircloth and Jordin Bordeaux (vocals), Tory Chappell (drums), Tim Root (harmonica), Max Fields (bass), Nate Crockett (violin), and Bart Budwig (horns). It's hard to believe now, but the album was recorded entirely live, in mono, to tape, with no overdubs or post processing (aside from mastering).

We met Bechard through a friend who recorded the album Electric Dreams in a century old theater on the edge of civilization out west. The recording was to tape, and live. We didn't even know if we could work with these mono tracks, but the sound of This Lonesome Paradise compelled us. "This is the hard way to do it," E. Ray told us "we put up with this vintage gear, and the difficulty of playing these older instruments because the sound is that rewarding." We sought out audio engineer A.F. Jones of Laminal Audio to take mixes and master them, a task he was excited to tackle. The finished product was even more mesmerizing than the original mixes. There's a depth to these recordings that demands repeated listens and rewards with fresh input every time. We're releasing Electric Dreams on Halloween, because it's the perfect sound for that.
